Friday’s SCOTUS decision on Chevron Deference should ease the way for lawsuits seeking the overturning turning of DOE/EPA regulations imposed by their orders or executive direction.

Thanks for your post - I was wondering if this would happen, and if it will happen several times before the election to secure those votes of non thinking people who never put 2 and 2 together.

It is more than little troubling that the security of the nation takes back seat to votes, especially with the situation in the country and across the world.

Ready for that economy to improve, and Texas being the 8th largest economy in the world, it's easy to see how much more independent we could be if the oil and gas industry wasn't so constrained by the "boot".

Still, this won't help the grid situation (ERCOT) in the short term, and the race to renewables seems to be all we have for an alternative. Policies, or lack of them, and lack of foresight, have taken this great state out at the knee caps, how did we get here! Dare I say - follow the money!

Yes, it is troubling that our national security is taken so lightly by this administration. It says a lot about their lack of respect for national security and the intellect of voters. While SPR releases won't change the ERCOT grid situation, the Supreme Court opinion striking Chevron Deference will really help the ERCOT grid, but it will take time. At least the Texas Energy Fund can buy us ome time. Your questions and thoughts are always welcome, JF! Ed

Has dumping oil from our strategic reserve ever really affected prices at the pump? I would think very little if any. Perhaps something to investigate.

The amount of crude oil they are talking about releasing is fairly minor, as you suggest, Hank, so they are unlikely to make any measurable reduction at the retail gasoline level. No question that they damage to U.S. national security is much worse. The purpose of such SPR releases is to make the political statement that they are trying to help U.S. consumers, but people aren't stupid. Thanks for the comment, Hank. Your comments and questions are appreciated! Ed

I think I will do an analysis of these releases at Turning to the Right.

I hope the "lifting of the boot" is a matter of "when" rather than "if".

The "if" will be determined by the election in November. If that goes in the right direction, which appears to be where the momentum is currently, then January 20, 2025, will be the "when." Thanks for your comment, Ed.
