Wouldn’t it be better to disconnect all solar and wind power from the main grid and only use that intermittent power locally, via small independent local grids, when the sun shines and the wind blows?
That would take away a big burden from the main grid operators who would then only have to deal with reliable coal, gas, nuclear and hydro power. As it used to be, I might say.
